Schedule For The Three-Day Tour In Liming
Three-day tour in Liming
1st day’s tour:
Take bus from Lijiang to the Town of Shigu, then arrive Liming passing Zhongxing – lodge in Liming
Visit The First Bay of the Yangtz River – the Town of Shigu (stone drum) – sight-seeing along the riverside – Lunch at Zhongxing – visit Naxi minority’s village Yiduimei
2nd day’s tour:
5 hours’ hiking: start from Liming, passing Sechongluo and Lusheng village, then return to Liming – visiting Qiangui Hill (Mountainside of thousands tortoises) in the afternoon – lodge in Liming
In the morning, if you stand at the Hongshi Street (Street of Red Stone), facing the east, you may have the chance to see the natural spectacle of sun-rise and sun-set three times a day; and facing the south-west, the wonderful scenery of green pine woods and two precipitous hill-peaks standing out will all come into sight. These two peaks are named “ushering screen”, which means to welcome the guests, but they seem like a wild bird covering with the crimson colored feathers at the moment to spread his wings to fly,.
After breakfast, you can walk along the paths in the valley until arrive to the original village of Sechongluo, which has been seen as an ideal land, a different world from the outside. Following the guide of local Lisu people, you can get in touch with the local lore and customs, taste the local country’s food, and drink the Lisu people’s rice wine and sweet honey wine. You might also luckily have the chance to taste the real fresh honey or cubilose (swallow’s nest, a kind of rare edible nourishment) just picked from the cliffs by the Lisu people. In the meantime, you will be willing to buy some handmade linen fabric cloths or woolen yarn bags, spun and made by the aged Lisu residents.
In Sechongluo, there is a local Christian church, and Lisu people have written the Bible in their own Lisu language. If you have the interest, you can go for any Christian members there and learn some Lisu language with them, and you might find out with surprise that the pronunciation in this language has some similarities with the international phonetic signs. Even then, if you have friends who share the same Christian religion, it will be delighted to invite them to sing the same hymn with the Lisu people, but in two different languages.
After lunch time, you will reach to the middle of the valley between the mountain sides, which called Sechongluo Yakou. With the advantage of 2950 meters’ height, you can survey all the vive scenery of Danxia landform full of Sudan red color and the surrounding green forest at the same time. In this view, the Liming’s land can be described as “rich and thick in the color of cinnabar, bright and shining as the rosy clouds”, so that it will be the perfect pleasant moment for photographing.
3rd day’s tour:
2 hours’ hiking from Liming to the Qiangui Hill (Mountainside of “thousand tortoises) (uphill) – 3 hours’ hiking back to Liming (downhill) – back to Lijiang in bus – lodge in Lijiang
Up the hill along one valley, passing through a chaparral, you will get to the Qiangui Yitiaolong—the hill of “thousand tortoises”, as in the form of a long dragon’s body, which is also known as “The Town of thousand tortoises” or “Thousand tortoises paying respect to the setting moon”, giving a vive picture that numerous rocks, very much like the tortoise-shells, small or big, lying side by side, one after another, attached to the hill’s surface. The erosion by the rain has made each of these rocks full of the cracks and fissures interweaved in various form and spectacular on the whole.
The local attitude is 2900 meters, and the whole scenery of Danxia landform and the canyon of Liming are all concluded in a broad view, meanwhile, you will see the village is located down the hill, surrounded by the mountains and cliffs. That is as much as a picture of the Chinese painting: pure clouds hanging above the village embracing the mountains, while the small houses can be found underneath.

Tips:
1. During the hiking in Li-ming, it is necessary to have a local guide coming from the minority of Lisu, for the reason that most of the Lisu people cannot speak the standard Chinese. 150 RMB/day only for one guide; 200 RMB/day for the guide plus horse riding.
2. Some of the mountain areas are out of cellphone signal. For the safety concern, please contact with the Scenery Area Service Center and communicate the whole trip in advance.
3. The third day’s tour can be modified according to the personal physical condition.

5. If you prefer the independent travel to Liming, you can take the bus at the Shenyun Car Station at the Mingzhu road (Democracy Road) in Lijiang (opposite the old stadium). The first bus starts at 12h00 and 13h00 every day; bus returns next morning at 07h00 from Liming to Lijiang. 30 RMB for one-way ticket.
6. It is suggested to wear the comfortable outdoor shoes in the scenery site of Danxia landform in Liming.
7. The temperature in Liming is high, and air is dry. So enough water and some protection articles are needed.
